5.2. Word of wisdom

So this is a expression of revelation.
God reveals in and to us. We obtain this revelation for the wellbeing of all people.
We also find this working of the Holy Spirit in the Old Covenant.

The word of wisdom:

Is not: any form of earthly/ temporarily wisdom. According to James this wisdom is from down under, unspiritual and even from the devil! Every wisdom, ‘under the sun’, no matter how elevating and exalted, is not capable of giving us insight into the spiritual world. Yes, often because she is attended with pride,  she goes for the downfall!

Is not: spiritual insight into God’s Word, which already has been revealed.

The word of wisdom:

Is indeed: a supernatural expression of the Holy Spirit, through which He lets us know the how, the when and the why of God.

Is indeed: an announcement of God through his will, his way and his time at the moment you need that knowledge.

Is indeed: a revelation from God to me to apply the knowledge obtained by the Spirit at the right time and place.

For wellbeing

1 Corinthians 12:7 says: ”Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.”

The diversity of expressions, ministries and works serves a Godly purpose, that is to say that every believer contributes to the construction of the Church through the expressions given to him. (according to 1 Corinthians 14:26).
The saying: “each one of you” at the beginning of the sentence is accentuated with emphasis. We should understand the expression ‘the revelation of the Spirit’, looking at the summary of expressions that is following, as ‘a certain way in which the Spirit reveals or manifests Himself’, this means a certain way of expressing by the Spirit.
So this expression refers to the spiritual gifts/expressions in verse 1.
To every believer (fulfilled with the Holy Spirit) one or two expressions are given through the Spirit. These expressions are ‘focused on all that is useful, that which is constructive’ (according to 1 Corinthians 6:12; 10:23). They have the intention to strengthen the religious life of others.

So God desires to give us all these expressions for our wellbeing. God is good! He wishes for us to live with Him in this world and conquer the (powers of) the darkness. He gladly wants, that we as spiritual beings, will be revealed as sons of God, who have become conform to the image of Christ in all aspects (Romans 8:29- For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers”).
God wants, us to be equipped for the assignments, which He gives and has given us, also through Jesus.
“In my name the believers shall…”!
After all through the Church the dark powers in the spiritual world will have to know, the contents of the multi coloured wisdom of God. This in contradiction with the pitch-black darkness they are living in, because they have turned away from the Light.

The Holy Spirit enables us to do this. Because of the fact that He lives in us, He is always ‘watchful’ – He will be with you until in eternity!
Even when you are under pressure – you are not in a corner.
Looking for advice – not desperate.
Pursued – not abandoned.
Launched on earth – not lost.
The Holy Spirit gives us in every individual situation, where He thinks necessary, a word of wisdom.
We will notice in most situations in practise, that the word of wisdom and the word of knowledge can function like a sort of ‘twins’.
