4.3 Different languages
There are different spiritual languages. This means a multitude of languages. So there is not just one language, there are many languages that are being inspired by the Spirit to the believer.
There was no lack of knowledge about the expressions of the Spirit in Corinth, but there was lack of knowledge about the way they had to be used in the Church meetings.
The division (this gift for one, that gift for the other) was not a way for God to make clear that the expressions were given to these individuals forever … Paul emphasizes the happening in the Church meeting – there and then the Lord will give out, incidentally, on the spot, for using the expressions of the Spirit.
Now it becomes clear that there is spoken of different languages (plural). It is of course impossible for one person (at one time or mixed up) to speak different spiritual languages. That would totally go against the character of God, who is a ‘God of order’ after a
