4.14 For construction
As always, it is also about the construction here, about growing in faith. Next to speaking spiritual languages, this expression is given for the Church to share in the blessings of praying in spiritual languages.
Every time there is being prayed during the meeting of the Church, there will have to be an explanation for the Church so that she will be constructed. 1 Corinthians 14: 12 and 13 – “So it is with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church. For this reason anyone who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret what he says.”
Speaking spiritual languages (in the meetings) is equal to prophecy when this is also being explained (1 Corinthians 14:5 – “I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy (in the Church). He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified.”).
Therefore the call, from the point of view of the jointly construction: everyone who speaks spiritual languages (in the Church), has to ask God for inspiration to explain it.
To many, this can be the first step in expressing spiritual gifts in the congregation.
Ask the Lord, belief that the Holy Spirit will answer your prayer through his inspiration and then act in faith.
