4.13 Interpretation of spiritual languages
This gift is the second in the group of expressions of inspiration. So the feature here is also: inspiration!
We already understood that this means:
1. God inspires out of his initiative;
2. God inspires out of my initiative.
By this gift, the contents of what is being ‘spoken in languages’ is being explained to the Congregation.
Mind this, it is in this case not about a trained knowledge of linguistics study, but it is about the revelation through the Spirit of what has been spoken in ‘languages’.
God insists explicitly (lovingly); so you express what the Spirit is about to say. You ask and act in faith, guided by the Spirit; then the Spirit starts to inspire.
This expression ‘interpretation of spiritual languages’ is very closely connected with the gift of speaking spiritual languages. The last gift should always be used together with the gift of interpretation of languages in the meetings of the Congregation.
Interpretation of spiritual languages
is not: reading thoughts. It doesn’t have anything to do with any human and certainly not with occult skills;
is not: psychological analyses;
is not: a talent to be able to explain complicated or unclear sayings out of the Bible;
is not: a literal translation of what has been spoken in another language (although this does happen incidentally);
is not: the skill of being a ‘professional translator’. After all this is a pure humanly skill, obtained by studying (lots).
Interpretation of spiritual languages
is: the supernatural expression of the Holy Spirit, through which He allows us to express the core of the meaning of the message, that has been given in the Spirit’s expression of speaking spiritual languages;
is indeed: pronouncing words on the spot, that are not known beforehand, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (unless this expression functions in connection with, for example, a word of knowledge);
is indeed: to look up to the Lord in trust (faith) for the inspiration to be able to express the explanation.
