4.12  Spiritual languages in practise

You can speak spiritual languages, through the baptism in the Holy Spirit,
under his inspiration. Give this form of praying a steady place in your life with the Lord.

a) in prayer life.
Take enough time, next to ‘praying with your mind’, to also pray with your spirit. Focus your thoughts on the Lord Jesus. Don’t speak spiritual languages while your thoughts are being distracted. Concentrate.
While praying in spiritual languages you let yourself be fulfilled with streams of living water, so that these eventually may flow out of you ‘like a fountain’. It is the most optimal communication with the Lord, that you can imagine!

b) pray in and through the Spirit with every opportunity

Wherever you are, no matter how you feel, what you’ve been through, you can always pray (or silently talk within yourself) in spiritual languages. You really don’t have to think while doing this, your mind is not part of the process, at least not in the process of forming the words.
Many know this prayer communication while walking, cycling or managing the house. You can especially talk out loud and freely in spiritual languages in the car, preferably when you’re alone.
Use the possibilities God offers you, wherever you can and want.
Also think of singing in spiritual languages while using these possibilities. A rich adventure!

c) in moments of conscious battle.
Speaking  spiritual languages is a remarkably efficient weapon in the spiritual battle, that we have to fight almost daily.
The battle against irritation, unclean glances and thoughts, weariness, fear for all kinds of things, loneliness, feelings of depression, feelings of inferiority, (fear for) bullying at school or at work, other problems at work or at school, conflict with your neighbours, tensions in your marriage, worries, financial problems, feelings of hatred, disease, and all other forms of evil and misery, where satan gladly and wastefully gives from. Also when you are suffering from frightening dreams and nightmares (during the night), praying through the Spirit offers a wonderful protection: fear disappears like snow before the sun! And you continue to sleep wonderfully.  
Use the speaking spiritual languages as a part of God’s armour; then you will make use of the sword of the Spirit, that is God’s Word (Ephesians 6:17). And who can handle God’s Word better and remind you of this in time, than the Holy Spirit (who is in you)?
In this way you can resist the devil and he will flee from you then! The demons tremble for God’s presence in you and me!
Also in pain and disease this gift will not be without impact. Because God’s Spirit will also make our mortal bodies alive, this means: to function according to the created laws of God, through his Spirit that lives (and works) in us – see Romans 8:11.

d) never hinder spiritual languages!
Do not hinder the speaking spiritual languages. Long for the functioning and also for the encouragement of these. There are pastors of congregations that claim not to be for or against it. They then often don’t have this gift themselves.
You could say to them that to not-hinder is not enough, because not doing good (encouraging this gift in the Church) is in fact disobedience to God and therefore sin (according to James 4:17).
It has a reason that satan is so fiercely against it. Globally speaking spiritual languages is often a breaking point between believers. Between non-spiritual and spiritual Christians. The choice of where you’d like to belong to is up to you!
Speaking spiritual languages is for the glorifying of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit sends as a matter of fact Jesus’ thoughts through to us, in order for us to be able to become more in unity with Him.
Jesus wants to give as much as possible of Himself to us, of his love, power and other features. The more this works out, the more He will be glorified and the more we will become conform in the image like Him??
.In John 16:13-15 we can read it like this: “But when he, the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.”

Therefore, even more, beloved pastors and elders: encourage speaking spiritual languages and never hinder this! Don’t let Acts 7:51 be of appliance to you…!
