12.8 History as prove of evidence?

For how many times it isn’t being said, that people will have to believe in the expressions of the Spirit indeed, when it can be proved out of the history of the church, that these gifts have always been there. And this is especially for the expression of speaking spiritual languages.
Still it’s strange indeed!
As if history would be prove of evidence for God’s truth.
A lot of people don’t know any better unfortunately. Trough the centuries God’s truth has been often of shortcoming  tremendously by so-called Christians. The cruel deeds done by her ‘for God’ proof indeed that the ‘church’ really had lost track (and still hasn’t found it). Millions of people have been persecuted, tortured and murdered by her! By this you can clearly see who was her source of inspiration (and still often is),  namely the ‘thief’, who only comes to steal, to kill and to destroy (John 10:10). In any case surely it was and is not the Holy Spirit!

Despite these dark times the true Christians have always managed to hold on to the baptism in and the fulfilling with the Holy Spirit, with his gifts and fruit.
Not distinctly, but the fire always kept burning ‘underground’.

Despite dogma’s from people, who say that the gifts were only for the beginning period of the church, or belonged to a certain ‘partition‘ (a period in the history of redemption/ salvation) the Spirit always remained working and dwelling in the sincere believers.

There are also many ‘failures’ to name, a lot of  ‘expelling of spirits’, lots of excesses. A lot of humbug, inspired and manipulated by satan, by ‘religious‘ people.

Therefore (the not too pretty) history won’t have to convince us. Only the pure Word of God will do that!
We therefore also won’t give up on bad experiences, that others experience, or we ourselves, or on wrongs in Congregations and churches. No, only that what God says indeed determines our faith!
We will grow up into Him, who is the Head of the Church, if we hold on to the Truth (Ephesians 4:15).

“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard trough the word of Christ. Or: Faith comes by hearing the message, and the message comes through preaching Christ” (Romans 10:17).
The preaching of Christ is, that the person Jesus was baptized in and fulfilled with the Holy Spirit; He was anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power (i.e. Acts 10:38). Christ means ‘ the Anointed’.
Further on the preaching of Christ is: we can turn out to be like Him!
If we are Christian (‘little Christ’), we are also ‘anointed’ with the Holy Spirit. At least if you know for sure that the Spirit of God lives in you (Romans 8:9. And you know that for sure indeed, when you can speak spiritual languages!
Still especially beautiful of God, that He has given to us this unquestionable clear evidence!!
