12.5 Charismata

Like indicated before: a charisma is a special revelation of the Holy Spirit to bring an initiated  goal to fulfilment. The duration of  this revelation depends on the designated purpose. There are different acts of mercy (charismata) or there are different gifts ( 1 Corinthians 12:4).
Next to the gifts of healing you can find much more other charismata.
Timothy has received his gift through laying on hands in the beginning of his ministry.
1 Timothy 4:14 says: “Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you” and 2 Timothy 1:16- “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands”.
It is clear that the laying of hands has taken a role to confirm Timothy in his purpose and his ministry as the elders prayed together for him! Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms”(1 Peter 4:10).
Everybody in his own role with is own purpose with his own charisma, “Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:13).

A gift of mercy that delivers us from trial. From such a deadly peril……….Paul and Timothy (2 Corinth 1:10).
Paul had receive a special charisma (1 Corinthians 7:7). He speaks about charisma in relation with the fact that he wasn’t married. Thus therefore everybody has his own special charisma or can receive it.

In trying to define the meaning of charisma we can conclude: God uses the “gifts” to bring our live to the purpose He designated.
