11.4 Appearances of demons in our era

There are actually too many to name. Therefore some are mentioned as example. Then we have an idea of what it is about.
It will be clear to most of us, that the primitive forms of witchcraft are a work, an expression of satan.
Satan however has a more trendy appearance nowadays. For this reason it is then also difficult for people to imagine, that these are demonic works.
All manifestations in fact are revelations from the supernatural world, which have nothing to do with the Word of God (and as exponent of that: Jesus Christ), evil works.

Occultism

This reaches a very broad area. Among this are all familiar forms of foretelling, superstition (amulets, mascot dolls), magnetism, horoscopy, omens, astrology, etcetera).

Spiritism  

This is strongly coming up. To this category belong ethereal resignations, contact with the dead, contact with spirits out of the universe, séances, ecstasy, etc.

Unfortunately there are also a lot of people, who are a member of a church or  group of believers, that play a dangerous game with these matters. How many don’t have contact with their deceased loved ones or talk to deceased so called saints or worse: worship these.
All the visible, which is attached to spiritual value, is in fact idolatry. It doesn’t concern God/ it excludes God, leads us away from God (…) and demons like to be worshipped through this way.
So be very careful with religious outward appearances! Unfortunately there are innumerable examples to be named, when we look around us…!
It is a vicious piece of work of infiltration by the kingdom of darkness.

Spiritualism

A less obvious form of spiritism. All kinds of semi-religious forms belong to this category. Think of the many meditation techniques (also practised by believers!), yoga, striving after mystics, eastern contemplation, psychedelic dedication (also by music!).

Astrology

A long existing and deeply rooted work of satan. Under this category belong of course also many forms of horoscopy.

Paranormal ‘sciences’

This is being busy with all appearances outside the normal (to trace with our senses) perception, by scientific investigation. It is presented under the flag of science, but there is no ‘empirical’ evidence available. This is because they have no understanding of the spiritual world, just like Jesus has shown us.

Satanism

Seen as impossible by many people. But it exists for a long time already all over the world. It is an active service to satan, which involves different forms of sex, drugs and perversities.

Extreme living patterns

Lately, the mentality of many people is determined by the work of the rulers and principalities of the darkness. Through this a situation comes into existence, where exceptional living patterns of some are being seen as ‘normal’ after a while.
For example: alternative marriages, alternative sex, alternative family and anarchistic mentality.
Everyone can fill in and add to these examples for themselves.   

Addiction

There are also many forms of this. Every time again it appears, that addiction clearly is a work that is also caused by demons. It will sound strange to many people, but there is always force involved with the work of satan. We know addiction to: alcohol, nicotine, drugs, sex, food, labour, money, pleasure and more.

Religious habit

We see that men is religiously active, where seduction by so called gods makes slaves of men and the striving after pleasing their ‘god’ to, for example, prevent punishment or other misfortune by that ‘god’. Every form of love, which is indeed the most important feature of our God, lacks!

Demons with wrong dogma’s

The Bible warns (for example in 1 Timothy 4:1) against deceiving spirits and things taught by demons (meaning: education).
Also in the Christian area, there are numerous dogma’s and opinions about faith. In fact it is all very simple: you recognize the tree from his fruit. When a dogma is resulted in the fact that people become conform to the image of Jesus Christ, you are in the right seat for sure! The fruit of the Holy Spirit is fully being developed in these believers: love, joy, peace, patience, friendliness, goodness, loyalty, gentleness, self-control.

Overall picture

Typical for the period in which we live now, is the overall picture of the people, that the Bible describes to us.
Of course there was talk of the same symptoms in earlier days, but these will increase in intensity in the com t will end up in the revelation of men (humanity) of sin (the anarchistic men, the son of destruction), see 2 Thessalonians 2:3.
Also 2 Timothy 3: 1-7 gives a clear description:
“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God – having  a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.

This counts for us: “Therefore do not be partners with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said:
‘Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.’
Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:7-20)
