1.3 Life and abundance
Through Jesus Christ, God offers you ‘life and abundance’ (John 10:10 says: “The thief – satan – comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”).
Maybe you have never noticed the sharp contradiction in these words of John. Jesus came to give ‘life and abundance’ to you. The thief however only comes to rob the life of God that is in you, to ‘slaughter’ (to kill, to part from God) your personality and to destroy your eternal happiness.
And he often does this by using all kinds of good sounding theories, ideologies, philosophies and religious dogmas. But also through violence and a sinful life.
God’s purpose is incredibly beautiful! It is not the product of inventions of men. It is from God. It is so tremendous that it, as a matter of speaking is almost too good to be (able to be) true.
It doesn’t seem agreeable from any scientific point of view. It goes therefore far beyond our natural human thinking!
But with so called scientific thinking, satan did manage to cast up a stronghold against God’s Plan and purpose, this is: doubt! This is the same as not believing the truth of God’s words.
And that’s what it is all about, about God’s words.
• He is the (never ending and unconditional) Love in person;
• Only He has knowledge of all things;
• He created the world and magnificently made the place of residence of man;
• He is the great Architect;
• He is the great Astronomer;
• He is the great Biologist;
• He is the great Chemist;
• He is the great Physicist;
• He is the great Scientist in every area;
• He is also the never ending Source of Energy;
• He is, altogether: the Source of Life;
• Even better said: He is Life itself!
If you are or becoming consciously aware of this, it is time for you now to radically connect with this living God.
God’s Plan with you is very clear, like for example it says in Romans 8:29: “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.”
The image of his Son. Of course you will continue to be yourself (God has created you ‘very good’, after all), but you will experience the life, love and power of Jesus Christ in full!
And have you been chosen by God beforehand? Yes indeed! You can read that in Ephesians 1:4 for example, which says: “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.”
